Position: Group Exercise Instructor – Water Aerobics
Category: Non-Exempt
Department: Aquatics
Reports to: Director of Fitness, Andrea Greene
Position Description: Part time position instructing morning water aerobics classes (8:00 - 10:00am).  Applicant must hold a current nationally recognized certification for fitness instructors, and have previous teaching experience in aquatic group exercise programs.  Excellent communication skills are mandatory. Prefer applicant with American Red Cross certification.

Position: Lifeguard
Category: Non-Exempt
Department: Aquatics

Position Description: Part-time lifeguards needed for indoor pool. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of swimming, lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification.

Position: Childcare Specialist
Category: Non-Exempt
Department: Fitness
Reports to: Director of Fitness, Andrea Greene
Position Description: Part-time position in childcare room available immediately.Applicants must be available from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and/or 5:30-7:30 p.m. Ages of children are 6 months to 12 years old. Position: Learning Center Coordinator (Union County Location)
Category: Exempt/Fulltime
Department / Division: Youth Programs
Position Description: Support the program Director with the implementation of daily programs for school age children and their families. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Recreation, Sociology or Human Services strongly preferred or equivalent education and/or experience. Minimum of two years work experience in a group leadership position with youth. Valid North Carolina driver’s license and ability to work weekends and evenings. Must be 21 years old.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan monthly schedule of activities including daily homework tutoring, special activities, field trips, support services, wellness classes and evening/weekend cultural experiences for students.
• Implement the daily nutrition program of snacks and cooking activities.
• Provide inventory reports and pick up food supplies on a monthly basis.
• Plan for and implement full day services during teacher workdays, winter and spring breaks, and summer camp.
• Network with schools, teachers and parents to individualize services to meet the children’s special needs such as academic support, social support and emotional skills.
• Act as liaison to schools, agencies and neighborhood residents assisting residents in securing needed services for their families by providing resources, referrals and transportation.

Position: Assistant Learning Center Coordinator
(Union County and Mecklenburg County Locations Available)
Category: Exempt/Part-time
Department / Division: Youth Programs
Position Description: Support the Learning Center Coordinator with the implementation of daily programs for school age children and their families.

Observe, record and report individual child's behavior and progresses as assigned.
Participates in daily cleaning of program space.
Assist with transportation services for school pick-ups and off site events for youth.
